    Your data

Everything is saved only in this browser on this device and is never sent to a server, so nobody else can see it. It will be lost if you clear your browser data or change phones, so download a backup regularly.

    Why track your expenses?

Most households know their income to the rupee but can only guess where it goes. Writing down every expense for even one month usually shows two or three leaks, such as eating out, small online orders or unused subscriptions, that are easy to fix once you can see them. This free tracker keeps those records on your phone and turns them into simple totals and charts.

    How to use it

    1. Tap "Add income or expense". Choose the type, enter the amount, pick a category and add a short note such as "vegetables" or "electricity bill".
    2. Pick a view. Day, Week or Month at the top shows your income, expenses and savings for that period. Use the arrows to look at earlier weeks or months.
    3. See where the money went. "Expenses by category" lists your spending from the biggest category down, with its share of the total. "Spending by day" shows which days cost the most; tap a bar to see that day's total.
    4. Set a monthly budget. Enter the most you want to spend in a month. The bar turns amber once you have used 80% of it and red if you go over, with a message telling you how much is left or how much extra you spent.

    Keep your records safe

Everything you enter is saved only on this phone, in this browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your spending stays private. But clearing browser data or changing phones will erase it, so download a backup every week or two (the tool reminds you) and keep it in Google Drive or on WhatsApp. "Export to Excel (CSV)" gives you all entries in a spreadsheet.

A simple way to budget: 50-30-20

A popular starting point is to split your take-home income into:

Share For On ₹40,000 a month
50% Needs: rent, groceries, bills, EMIs, school fees ₹20,000
30% Wants: eating out, shopping, trips ₹12,000
20% Savings and investments: RD, SIP, emergency fund ₹8,000

Your own split will depend on your city, family and loans, so treat this as a guide rather than a rule. Many people find it easiest to save first: move the savings amount to an RD or SIP on salary day and budget the rest.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my data safe? Who can see it?

Your entries are stored only on your own device. They are never sent to our server, so nobody else, including us, can see them.

Will I lose my entries if I change phones?

Yes, unless you have a backup. Download a backup regularly, then on the new phone open this page and choose "Restore backup".

Can I set a budget for each category?

The tool has one budget for the whole month's spending. To keep an eye on one category, use the Month view: "Expenses by category" shows exactly how much went to each.

Should I record small expenses like tea or bus fare?

Yes, at least for the first month. Small daily expenses add up quickly and are often the ones people underestimate. Add them once a day, in the evening, so it only takes a minute.

Can I use it for my shop's income and expenses?

You can, with the "Business" income category. For money customers owe you, use the Udhaar Khata instead; it keeps a separate balance for each customer.
